23rd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Artistic
Almost Human

He has muscles, unlike the marble pillar behind him. He’s sculpted like a man, unlike the animal ahead. His marble almost looks like skin as the light warms his almost-flesh. But as we watch and walk around him he can do neither. Although he aims forward he never moves, forever stuck and never new. That's what makes him almost human but in a way that makes him human.
