After 2000 miles of hiking, beginning at the Mexican border, my friend Simon and I had finally made it to Washington. The Alpine Lakes Wilderness area is said to be one of the most beautiful sections of the Pacific Crest Trail. This was one of our first impressions of it, and it sure didn't disappoint.
