This photo was taken in a section of old gravestones in West Cemetery in Amherst, MA. This particular section of the cemetery is kept in a natural state without any mowing. I thought that the lone American flag contrasted nicely with the old stones and tall grass, and at the same time it reminds passersby that veterans graves, regardless of how long they have been there, are, and will continue to be, recognized and honored.
