John Basilone is an American war hero, veteran marine, and Italian American. My father-in-law, Joseph Basilone (foreground person), is also an Italian American and distant relative of John Basilone. My father-in-law immigrated to New York, United States when he was a teenager with his family from Italy, and eventually started his own family here in New Jersey.
