Strawberries are part of the American experience historically, and for me personally. Strawberries were first cultivated by Native Americans, and then the European colonists took a liking to them, and even exported some back to Europe. Gardening and painting have been favorite hobbies for me during the current pandemic. My mom and I got this strawberry plant at Home Depot, and this is the first ripe strawberry. (It was very sweet despite its small size). This also reminded me of my childhood when we used to grow strawberries in our yard.
