An attendant cleans the temple's ornate stairwell
The iconic Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple in the New Territories of Hong Kong is an infamous gathering place before Chinese New Year. People come to this temple and present offerings and burn incense for good fortune and prosperity before the holidays. The smells of the incense, the warmth of the sun, the sounds of people, and the bright colours of the temple contribute to the festive atmosphere of this time. An attendant cleans the iconic entrance stairwell, undoubtedly to prime the temple for this auspicious time of year.
