an empty street intersection in the suburbs of Tokyo

While I knew that Tokyo was more than the crowded streets of Shibuya and Shinjuku, I was still shocked at how quiet and empty the narrow suburban streets could be. I was particularly fascinated by the rounded mirrors that allowed cars to see bikers or pedestrians before turning a corner. The houses themselves were usually done up in muted colors, but the greenery was prevalent and provided a peaceful contrast to those who passed by.
