An immature male of Ameles spallanzania (Mantodea:Mantidae), the European Dwarf Mantis
As soon as I saw this small specimen waiting in ambush, it entered a cryptic "rolled leaf" pose raising its abdomen, a behavior typical of females and rarely observed before in males.
