An indigenous water protecter dances in front of a line of U.S. Capitol Police at the intersection Pennsylvania ave NW and 3rd st. SE outside the U.S. Capitol on Friday, October 15. That was the final day of the “People vs. Fossil Fuels,” a week of non-violent direct actions around Washington, D.C., used to bring attention to the negative affects of climate change and America’s oil-dependent economy. The actions included Indigenous and allied activists from the District and across the country.
