14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
An Oregonian View of the Sky
One of my favorite parts of visiting parks across the United States is the trees - not just the massive forests, but the individual trees themselves - for their girth, their natural design, their beauty. This one tree split in such a way that I had to climb to where the trunks separated and blindly snap photos with an outstretched hand until I caught what I wanted.
