This is an ancient guard outpost at/near the most western end of the Great Wall of China. It is just on the outskirts of the Sahara desert. I was struck by the monochrome reds of the colors in the fore and mid ground and the contrast of the blue sky. The shadow of the rock sign adds design and drama to the image.
