Andean tiger cats: the small spotted
In the Colombian Andes, among cloud forests, lives the Northern Tiger Cat, the smallest wild cat in the country. Rarely seen and seldom photographed, they survive stealthily on mountain nights. Its scientific name is Leopardus tigrinus and it is listed by the IUCN as Vulnerable to Extinction (VU). Local researchers have determined that habitat fragmentation and loss, along with diseases and attacks caused by feral dogs are one of the main threats to the species.
