Animal human conflict!
Urban development by using cultivation fields leads to habitat loss of many species. Here, the lizard shares the area with the humans and has been bold and tolerant to his presence. Fan-throated lizard (Sitana ponticeriana) is a species of agamid lizard found in eastern peninsular India. During the breeding season, males develop tri-coloured gular appendage. The species is found mostly on the open ground patches around cultivation fields and thin forests. It is about 8 inches long including a 5inch tail.
