Ant attack on a Marbled Weevil, Cyphocleonus dealbatus

Ants are ubiquitous and aggressive, but the Noble Checkered Weevil is like a stalwart draught horse in the field of battle with ants crawling over him from all sides and then charging and butting him on the head. Like all insect battles, it was epic in dimensions and immensely fascinating. The weevil stood its ground and the ants ran over him and tickled his head, but he never retreated from his position on the tansy.
