Ant-Mimic Spider

This is a picture I took of a jumping spider (Sarinda hentzi) mimicking an ant! When I first saw this spider I thought it was an ant but when I saw it jump I was like that’s suspicious and took a picture. When I saw it had 8 legs instead of 6 I knew it had to be a spider and not an ant. Some spiders mimic ants because ants are aggressive and have dangerous stings/chemicals which are unappealing to predators. Other spiders mimic ants to try to blend into an ant colony and then once they’re in they prey on the ants. Nature is full of mimicry and I’m always amazed by how well some animals mimic others. These spiders even wave their front legs in front of their bodies to mimic an ants antennae.
