ANTARCTIC ENCOUNTERS

During my trip to the Antarctic peninsula in November 2019, one the highlights was certainly the up close and personal experiences with the penguins. Some of us had climbed a hill where the gentoo penguins were going and it was terrific to be far away from everyone else and have no one but these birds and the ice and snow for company. Of course, one suffered the occasional fall through soft snow that was several feet deep, and for a person from the tropics like me, it was, at the very last, an interesting experience.
