Anxiety that eats the belly

Alghero is a seaside city, it is a tourist city, it moves under a mild temperature even in winter and is in fact a destination for tourists not only in the summer season. Tourists enjoy the romantic streets of the historic center and strolls along the sea that runs along the entire city. But in the period of stoppage, due to the blockade for Covid19, the city is deserted, sad and of a poignant beauty. Only the sea continues in its eternal movement, everything else is still, motionless, the streets full of a dense silence that passes beyond the mask, drops you inside and tightens your stomach. The places that are generally more crowded in the city now take on the appearance of sanctuaries and I silently respect them through astonishment. These places that in the mind bring back to summer lives are now architectures of nothingness in which coffee and laughter with friends are replaced by breaths of anxiety and helplessness breathed in total, surreal and inhuman solitude.
