Arctic Wildflowers (yellow)

Nordkapp in Norway, 71°10′21″N 25°47′04″E, the last landfall before the North Pole. The 307 metre cliff top plateau overlooks the point where the Norwegian Sea meets the Barents Sea. This region is within the Arctic Circle and not surprisingly is often fog bound, and so it was the day I visited, the views towards the sea were basically non existent. However, as always, if you take the time to look you can often find a beautiful, if miniature view to enjoy!! And so I chose to spend my time seeking out the small, delicate flowers and mosses which were covered in drops of water from the surrounding fog. Unbelievably they seemed to thrive clinging to very edges of the clifftops. These images are a treasured memory of my visit to this incredible place.
