In the frame of a research residency by Goethe Institute Barcelona on Mallorca in September and October 2022, I was researching on the donkeys of the island, that constitute their own race (Ase Balear) and that are close to extinction – as most other donkey races. The outcome of this research is a 2 channel video installation, "Donkey Business" in which the donkey lady with the name Pepa de Cas Retat, plays a central role. In the frame of the video shooting I was also taking some images. This one is one of them. It shows Pepa, the alpha female and therefore leader of the herd and 2 younger, females from the herd in the background.
