The red district of Kyoto, not far from the traditional area of Gion where Asian tourists rent a yukata (kimono) and dress for the day as a maiko (an apprentice geisha generally around 15-20 year old). The architecture of many parlours (where men come and pay for conversation with some young girls) and soaplands (brothels) in Japan can be sometimes very interesting and futuristic.
