Atalanta butterfly on a pear
Atalanta butterflies usually close their wings when stationary. The pattern of the ventral side of the wings makes the butterfly undetectable on the bark of a tree, but it is very spectacular at a closer look. The spectacle is increased by the colors if the pear and the leafs in the background.
