Wade is 4 yrs old. He did not utter a word until last year. He has autism. The only child of my youngest daughter, he is sensitive to loud noises, wears diapers, just began feeding himself and has difficultly communicating but for one thing, his expansive smile. His smile literally flows from ear to ear. He is happy! He also, as a Black boy with autism, has very long locks. He also has no clue others see him differently. We are just fine with that.
