Masai Mara, Kenya. We were driving around the Mara on a beautiful afternoon when we came across a male lion who was peacefully feasting on a buffalo. We decided to stay around for a bit as there were a few hyenas in the area. As their number increased they became bolder and started to get closer. There was soon around 15 hyenas. They had become very agitated as the smell and sight of the buffalo carcass was driving them into a frenzy. The lion didn't move.
