19th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Autumn in Ordesa

From the high areas of the French Pyrenees we arrive at the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. From the road I can see the infinite forests that adorn the valleys of infinity of colors, the warm tones of the deciduous trees stand out against the green pines, which keep the needles all year, oblivious to the seasons, creating a palette of incredible colors, the best work that could have been painted. The first days of rain of the newcomer Autumn fill the aquifers and overflow the rivers, the waterfalls are countless and the mists embrace the highest peaks, which although they do not allow us to see las gradas de Soaso, el gallinero, La brecha de Rolando and other famous peaks, make us enjoy autumn in all its splendor.
