AUTUMN RYTHM

Abstract composition of November 7, 2015. Harriman State Park, New York. While hiking around a small glacial lake Nawahunta in Harriman State Park in New York I spotted a field of bunched up pine needles floating in still water. I was amazed how subtly forces of nature moved these needles around to create quaint rhythmical patterns. I noticed how expressive these patterns were. To me some of them were reminiscent of van Gogh’s brushstrokes while some were perceived as a cushion protecting me in the moment of emotional serenity and wonder.
