I witnessed numerous devout followers during my participation in the Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage, a traditional cultural event in Taiwan. Among them, a man's solemn countenance caught my attention as he gazed earnestly at the approaching palanquin of Mazu. His expression bore both reverence and anticipation. The background was enveloped in smoke and haze, almost symbolizing prayer and faith. This scene highlighted his devoutness and yearning towards Mazu, portraying the deep faith people hold in traditional religion. It captured a moment intertwined with faith and anticipation, allowing viewers to sense the profound emotions people harbor for their beliefs.
