Ba Lua Islands
Bà Lụa Islands (Quần đảo Bà Lụa) is an archipelago located in the Gulf of Thailand, Kiên Lương district, Kiên Giang province, Vietnam. The archipelago is also known as the "Small Hạ Long of the South" or Bình Trị cluster. The archipelago consists of about 34 to 42 islands (depending on the source) spreading out over a 70-square-kilometer water area. Hòn Heo (Pig Island) is the largest island in the Bà Lụa archipelago with an area of about 1.5-square-kilometer. The name "Pig" (Heo) island comes from the French who set up on the island an experimental pig farm in 1918. Rễ Lớn island has the highest peak of 124 metres.
