Baby Blue-gray Gnatcatcher in the nest

Nesting in Blue and Gray Once or twice a year, I make a point of visiting one of my local wetlands. Huntley Meadows was created in the 1970s after a beaver built a dam, and in 1971 President Richard Nixon transferred the surplus federal land to the state. The result is a thriving wetland that attracts a remarkable variety of birds.
