After hammering Florida, the remnants of late-season Hurricane Nicole swept up the east coast. Tied with a strong high pressure to the system's east, a large swath of strong south winds setup along the Mid-Atlantic seaboard generated clean surf as the storm cleared for the east-facing beaches of New Jersey.
