Badlands Yellow Mounds

The fragile rock formations in Badlands National Park are certainly breathtaking, but I think the vivid colors in the Yellow Mounds are more beautiful still. The chemical composition of the rock and the environmental conditions in which it formed combine to tell us a story of how this rock, and this park, formed.
