20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Bald Eagle popping up above the pier
I was photographing Bald Eagles in March of 2022. I could see the head, feet and tail of an adult Eagle that was on the ice below a pier eating a fish. When I noticed a juvenile Bald Eagle flying toward the adult, I was hoping some interaction would take place.
