The Eerie Common Loon. I have heard the call of the Loon but not seen one in person. I was on an overnight trip to Traverse City, Michigan to do some work. I had planned on doing some work the day I got there but it fell through so I took a walk along the local lake. I had walked a short distance when I saw this outline of a water bird that just said to me "LOON". So, I got closer and realized I was seeing for the first time, up close and personal, a Common Loon! The only thing that would have made this moment any better would have been it making it's call for me......
