I was driving along a winding road on San Juan Island, Washington State when I came across a fire-red tree sticking out amongst the rest of the trees on the calm lake. It was an overcast day with mist, so the colors were already quite saturated. I ran over to the water's edge and snapped a few frames. None of them were doing the scene the justice it deserved, so I decided to shoot a stitched panoramic to really tell the story of how one tree on the lake just couldn't wait to stand out amongst the others.
