On a photo tour in Lake Kuril, Kamchatka, we observed brown bears in the wilderness. These magnificent animals are territorial and very protective of their young. A mama bear (on right) fearlessly attacks a large male that came too close to her cubs. The fight ended with no discernible injuries.
