Beauty in the drought, The toll of the heat, Pale Passion

When my family moved to Oklahoma, I wasn't quite prepared for the intense heat and drought that are so common in this part of the country. My mother had planted some knock out roses that are resistant to drought. Even when the grass was brown and the creeks were dry, these roses served as a reminder that beauty lies in all seasons of life.
