I was invited by friends to photograph the Line Dance party at the Rostock Hansa Sail festival this summer. I thought Line Dancing had only to do with Cowboys and Cowgirls and was therefore surprised to see so many people excited by this dance. I was especially surprised by the fact that amateur line dancers in Rostock were older women and men, possibly members of the former Communist East German Republic. Where they also secretly line dancing behind the Iron curtain? This we shall never know. I was inspired by the dancers to rediscover that beauty and joy know no age, faith, color or origin.
