Berkeley Bee Enjoys Snack

I found this bee sticking its head in a lavender flower at the Berkeley Rose Garden. Lavender provides bees with pollen and nectar to feed on. I think this is a honey bee (Apis mellifera), which is native to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East but was brought to the Americas by European settlers.
