Beehive Windows of Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
A palace built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, which incorporates as an extension a beehive of windows so royal women could observe local life on the streets from above. Women of the time were restricted from public appearances and the palace extension allowed them to see outside culture.
