We were on our way back to the capital when I noticed this sleuce in the middle of a field. WHenever possible I try to have camera with me, so we stopped to take a couple of quick snapshots. The quietness and stillness of the place, together with the manually operated sluice seemed the appropriate calm before the beginning of Guyana's big oil-driven transformation.
