Beijing's iconic hutong neighborhoods are quickly disappearing as the city reinvents itself into a modern metropolis. A bicycle, lions-head door knocker, and traditional inscription in one of the remaining hutong fragments recall the classic Beijing lifestyle of an earlier era.
