believers holding prayer wheels
The Tibetan prayer wheel is a unique religious implement of Tibetan Buddhism, symbolizing the theme of "reincarnation," and is commonly found in Tibet and surrounding areas. The main body of the prayer wheel is cylindrical, and it is mostly made of gold, silver, copper, or wood. The body of the wheel is engraved with the six-syllable mantra, and contains mantras or scriptures. Believers accumulate merit by turning the wheel clockwise instead of reciting scriptures.
