Bentonite Hills

Bentonite Hills are deposits of clay and ash, found near Capital Reef National Park, in Utah, USA. The rainbow colored rings are made up of mud, sand, and volcanic ash from the Jurassic Period, around 140 million years ago. The bumpy surface of the hills, is the result of the clay absorbing rainwater and drying out, time-after-time over the years.
