19th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Between worlds
Turtles live in the sea, but they have to breathe. Between two worlds they live, in the deep blue of the sea they made a home, and there they are immersed, but for their survival and for the species, they have to leave this world to breathe and thrive. For the artist, the photo represents a human duality, of people between their dreams and reality, the two distinct worlds where life lies in knowing how to cross these portals. Record made at Sueste beach in Fernando de Noronha.
