Bighorn Fire, Tucson
From early June to late July, 2000, the Bighorn Fire burned nearly 120,000 acres just north of Tucson—it was also one of our hottest, driest years on record, in addition to the pandemic. Fortunately, somehow, no one died in this wildfire.
