BJJ Painting Face 1

八家将 (Ba Jia Jiang) originated from Chinese folklore, and is a name given to a group of eight generals with supposed exorcism powers. Ba Jia Jiang now manifests largely as temple rites in Taiwan. Before each rite, performers of the Ba Jia Jiang ceremony must paint their faces to resemble specific characters in the folklore.
