Black and Red broadbills nest construction
The species is found in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Inhabiting lowland riparian forest throughout its range. The black-and-red broadbill is mainly insectivorous, supplementing its diet with aquatic creatures such as mollusks, snails, fish, and crustaceans. Along with other species of broadbills they build a loose pendulous nest from forest debris that looks rather fragile. But they are really intelligent engineers, and thieves. They steal spiders webs and use the thread to strengthen their nests. Pure genius. That is what they are doing in this image.
