Block Island Coast Guard station
This old building is the US Coast Guard station on Block Island, twelve miles off the coast of Rhode Island. The station stands at the entrance to the harbor at Great Salt Pond and is still in use. Like so much of Block Island it seems unchanged by time. I might have been standing here a hundred years ago. I tried to capture that feeling in this B&W rendering of my original image.
