Blue City
Jodhpur is known as the Blue City, the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was built in 1459 and its founder, Rao Gouda, ordered that the houses be painted blue, while others believe that the blue color of the houses is due to the fact that it is inhabited by the Brahmin "upper class of Hindus" and blue is closely linked to this priestly category
