Blue Ridge Autumn Layers

I was about ready to head home to our tiny camper. The sunset I was waiting for didn't look like it was going to materialize, but within minutes magic occured. This overlook is located off the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina, near the merging of the Smoky Mountain, near Gatlinburg in eastern Tennessee and the Appalachian's. I was a bit overwhelmed as the colors changed from minute to minute. Autumn colors were popping, rust, oranges, yellows against the blue smoky colors enthrawled me. Off in the distance smoke was appearing, with pine scents wafting in the breeses. Each layer of mountains was capturing the light in destinct manners filtering each color in a different way. When I got ready to edit, I had to create the image as a panorama. Nothing less would do the scene justice.
