On January 1, 2019, I went for a walk along Hooghly River in Kolkata before sunrise. The early hour meant that there was hardly anyone around, especially with many people staying up late on New Year's eve. The water was tranquil with boats still anchored and their bright colors making them stand out against the buildings and ferries in the background.
